When planning units and lessons for students an educator must consider all learners within their community and environment. Diversity is vital to the success of any curriculum and important in all modes of society. All learners must be seen as individuals and as individual learners. Educators must do what ever it takes to meet the needs for ALL students no matter the educational level.

SWD: The accommodations for students with disabilities must be met according to their IEP or their Individualized Education Plan. They will be grouped with high and on grade level learners. The students will receive extended time, one on one and accomodations in accordance to their needs.

ELL: English Language Learners will be assisted by the ESOL teacher and peers as needed. ELL students have difficulty deciphering the english language and completion of projects with written and verbal. Therefore, written and verbal accomodations will be granted to these students on an as needed basis. They will receive extended time, peer to peer and the opportunity to reflect upon the unit assignments verbally and written.

LS: Learning styles will vary throughout the PBL project. The unit however, will allow students to express their learning styles. The students will then have the opportunity to complete assignments that appeal to their learning styles. The collaborative groups will allow students to demonstrate their strengths and weakness to copmlete the assignments and components of the PBL unit.

MI: Multiple Intelligences will be challenged as it will allow them to express their strengths within their MI. It will allow them the capabilitiy to complex the unit as needed and as desired while completing the expectations.


LOT: Understanding not all students will have access to technology, those with the lack of technology will be allowed to work on the unit during specified class times. Media specialist/aides will be available during those times to aide the student(s) as well as come before and after school to work on their project.

GS: Gifted students will be allowed to express their strengths through their creativity and in-depth knowledge of their subject. They will further more, be required to extend upon their activity while being optional for others.
